Custom Oriental Rug Sizes

When a customer came to our store looking for an odd sized rug, we sent a rug from our store home with Laura to see if the design was suitable. She loved the design but wanted a rug 4’10 x 13′.

That is a unique oriental rug size and we did not have options in our store for that size. We worked with Laura to take the design and colors she loved and create a rug for the size she needed.

Handmade with Heart: Our Custom Rug Process

We work with our clients to create an oriental rug that fits their space, design and size.
Here are the ways we can customize an oriental rug for your needs.

  • Design Discovery – Work with our team to choose the oriental rug style, pattern, and palette.
  • 50% Deposit – As the design is in process, we ask for a 50% deposit on the custom oriental rug.
  • Map Drawing – After we have the design motif in place, we send that to our teams in Afghanistan for a map.
  • Approval – When the rug design is approved, our team goes to work gathering supplies.
  • Dyeing & Spinning – We spin and dye wool using natural and mostly organic methods.
  • Loom Setup – The traditional loom is setup with the cotton base.
  • Hand-Knotting – Each knot is tied by hand, a process taking weeks to months to complete.
  • Shaving – When the knotting is completed, we send it for shaving to shorten the pile.
  • Finishing Touches – Your rug washed, dried, and aligned.
  • Delivery – Shipped to our store for pickup or to your door for use.
