Why Buy Orientiq Kilim Rugs?
At Orientiq, our mission is to support the many hard-working and talented men and women out there who struggle to make ends meet. We feel so lucky to be able to offer a platform that allows these incredibly gifted artisans to sell their beautifully woven rugs and carpets to a much broader demographic outside of their home countries. We are dedicated to providing them with fair pay and promoting sustainable practices, ensuring that these individuals can continue their time-honored craft with confidence and dignity.
By choosing one of our handmade Kilim Rugs, you aren’t only bringing home a stunning decorative piece, but also supporting the livelihoods of the artisans and their families who bring these incredible creations to life. With Orientiq, you can bring home an exquisite rug that adds a sense of calm, elegance, and unique character to any space, and was carefully woven to perfection on the other side of the world. With its series of stepped lozenges forming the main lattice of this rug and outlined with alternating colors, these rugs are a striking testament to the rich tradition of oriental rug-making.
How Orientiq Rugs Are Made
Each of our rugs comes from countries far across the globe, such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, and others. The creation process is a painstaking one, and requires a lot of time and care. First, the wool is harvested from the local sheep and then sorted into high and low-quality fibers. It is then washed, combed, spun, and dyed using natural dyes. If you’d like, you can feel free to learn about the entire rug-making process in more detail!
